Watch Beaumont Weekend!

Join us this weekend February 4th and 5th on C-SPAN2's Book TV and C-SPAN3's American History TV as we explore the literary life and rich history of Beaumont city. All weekend long on Book TV you will see interviews with local authors and hear about special collections and the literary culture of Beaumont, and on American History TV (AHTV) we’ll take you to different historic sites as we learn about where the oil industry in Texas got its start.

NEW!! We will also air special Beaumont programming blocks. Watch C-SPAN2's BookTV-Saturday, Feburary 4th at 12pm ET and C-SPAN3's American History TV-Sunday, February 5th at 5pm ET.

We owe many thanks to our cable partners at Time Warner Cable for their help in making this a very successful trip.  Gavino Ramos, Fred Flores and Jennifer Nguyen and all of their city partners who helped organize the week's logistics including a special public kick-off event at the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum.  The event included remarks from Mayor Becky Ames, Lamar University President Dr. Simmons, BISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas and Time Warner Cable's Gavino Ramos. Our community and education outreach events included visits to Ozen High School, Msgr. Kelly High School, Harmony Science Academy and a presentation to the Beaumont Rotary Club (thanks to Honorary Rotarian Chad Blanchard).

Be sure to catch BookTV and AHTV this weekend!  If you miss them on-air-go online!! The pieces are  available to view on the Beaumont LCV website and C-SPAN’s Video Library.

Thank you Beaumont!
